NHS 24 operates a 24-hour advice and information service along with providing the out-of-hours service to all patients in Edinburgh on behalf of NHS Lothian.  If you require the services of a doctor in the evening or at weekends please call 111 and you will directed to one of the Primary Care Emergency Centres or given advice regarding your illness.  Confidentiality is assured.

Further information on NHS 24 is available on their website at www.nhs24.com

Out-of-hours services are generally busy so please think carefully before asking to see a doctor and only do so if you cannot wait until the surgery re-opens.

In a genuine emergency you should call 999. Chest pains and / or shortness of breath constitute an emergency.
